Resonance is the natural rhythm of coherence within us — and when we return to it, dissonance can no longer sustain itself.
When our inner rhythms come into resonance, they create a field of harmony powerful enough to dissolve patterns from the past.
What is resonance?
Resonance is one of the most fundamental principles shaping our inner state and our experience of reality.
In this episode, Lucy explores resonance as the natural rhythm of coherence within the human system — the harmonic relationship between the rhythms of breath, heartbeat, attention, and consciousness itself.
When these rhythms come into harmony, they generate a field of stability and safety within the body and the wider energetic field. From this state of resonance, dissonant patterns — including unresolved experiences from the past — begin to dissolve naturally.
Lucy also explores how resonance influences manifestation, beliefs, and repeating life patterns, and how returning to a centred state can allow deeper healing and integration to occur.
“Wherever you place your attention, that is what you energise — and it is also where you receive energy from.”
This short transmission introduces a foundational principle within Lucy’s work on coherence, the Human Blueprint, and the intelligence of the living field.
Topics explored in this episode include:
• resonance and harmonic rhythm
• breath, heartbeat and energetic coherence
• trauma and unresolved patterns
• manifestation and unconscious expectations
• meditation and returning to the undisturbed self

So what is resonance? Well, resonance is dealing with rhythms. We have our internal rhythms for every layer of the self, for every dimension of who we are, every dimension of reality that this I that we are exists within. We have rhythms and patterns and those rhythms and patterns, they can be in a harmonious relationship or they can be in a dissonant relationship.
Now, if you think of music, you know how it feels different in your nervous system and in your body if you listen to dissonant sounds, sounds that clash together, compared to when you listen to harmonious sounds. Well, think of the rhythms you know of, the rhythm of your breath, the rhythm of your heartbeat. These rhythms can be in dissonance or resonance within themselves, with each other.
A dissonant pattern in the rhythm of your breath or your heartbeat, for example, would be an irregular pattern, an asymmetric pattern. Now, if your heart starts beating asymmetrically, you think you may be having medical problems and there's a good reason to think that's possibly the case. Think about what happens when you're stressed, anxious, frightened, preoccupied, when you're literally holding your breath because of something you're concerned about, when you're having a reaction to something that hasn't stabilised in your system, yet what happens to your breath? It becomes irregular, arrhythmic.
Now, there's something that brings our rhythms and patterns into resonance faster than almost anything else. When you place attention on your heart and your centre, you're placing attention in a gateway and the gateway is like the fulcrum, the balance or the zero point on a set of scales. Now, if you place your thumb on zero point for a set of scales, you know, in principle, they will balance and it's the same.
And your rhythms equalise. Wherever you place your attention, that's what you're energising. That's where you are, where you're sitting.
And in terms of energy, it's what you're giving your energy to, but it's also where you're receiving energy from. Energy just means consciousness, it means a flow of energy of some kind, an alchemical force, an energetic interaction. So when you place attention on your heart and centre, and you do this for no reason, for any length of time, if you are also present in your body, noticing the sensations, for example, on the inside of your body, those sensations as a whole, not what they are, not what they mean or why they're there or what you should do about them, just that they are.
Well, if you do this for any length of time, you might notice that your rhythms start to stabilise, your breath will become regular and rhythmic. What happens to your heartbeat? Your pulse rate, if you do this. When we do this, we bring our rhythms into resonance.
The reason I say you should also be present and have attention in your body is because, well, these are the rhythms we're focusing on, the heartbeat, the breath. So in its simplest form, resonance. Resonance is the rhythmic regularity of the rhythms and patterns, making waves, generating a field.
Now when you have a resonant sound, doesn't it hold you? Doesn't it feel like it could carry you? And it's very much the same when you bring your own rhythms into resonance. When you sit in the centre of yourself and you notice your heartbeat or you notice your breath, you allow those rhythms to come into resonance and they are generating a waveform pattern in your field that can then carry you, can hold you in a field of harmony. Interesting things happen in a field of harmony.
When you rest in a field of harmony, wherever that harmony is active, energised, as in wherever your attention is present with it, dissonant waveforms cannot be sustained. I'll say that again. Whenever you rest in a field of harmony, dissonant waveforms cannot be sustained.
They may be present, you may be aware of them, but they cannot act where there is a resonance. They cannot act on you. This functions, if you like, as an activity in the present moment.
Now, what happens if we rest in the present moment, right here, right now, where we stood, where we're sitting, where we're lying, and we access another present moment? Because all events recorded in our field are all happening in a quantum sense in their own present moment. That means, although we experience a chronology, the record of the event is happening in the here and now, as far as the field is concerned, as far as our system is concerned. So what happens if we sit in the here and now moment and rest our attention in our heart and centre, rest our attention on the rhythm of the breath or the rhythm of the heartbeat? You know, it's there even if you don't hear it or feel it.
We come into coherence, we come into resonance in this now moment. What happens if we then allow our attention to access another moment, something we consider to be from our past, but that our field is registering as having its own here and now happening moment? What if we sit in this coherence and place attention on a moment from our past? The system recognises both moments as happening in the present. And because in the present you are holding a field of coherence, a field of harmonic resonance, that resonance is going to act on the record, the imprint and the pattern of that past event.
It's going to invite it to dissolve. As we say, dissonance cannot be sustained in a field of resonance. The process of the dissolution of dissonance, the impact from the past of an event, well, that's a little more complex.
Dissolution is a process. Sometimes it's simply instantaneous, sometimes recorded dissonance, as in the memory of an event which impacted us in some way. Sometimes that recorded dissonance will instantly dissolve when it's accessed from a field of resonance and resonant coherence.
That means if we sit in resonance here and now and bring attention to a moment in the past, some of the impact of that moment may be instantly dissolved. It may stop acting on us as though it's always happening now, which to the system, to our fields, it is. Something that happened when you were six years old that you can't remember can still be acting on your system as though it's happening right now.
Your beliefs, your expectations, your perceptions and your response patterns may all be being affected by it. Your emotional landscape may be being affected by it. The constellation of your inner archetypes might be being affected by it.
The alchemy of your inner energetics, the flow of forces through your system, in that breathing renewal of life force, always happening now, rewriting you moment to moment, may be being affected by it. By something that the memory can't even access because it's experiencing it within a framework of chronology. It's too far in the past.
There's no conscious access to it. So what happens when the system is trying to bring dissonance back into resonance? Because it always is. And it finds a pocket of dissonance in your system that originated when you were six years old, for example.
Well, a lot of the time, those pockets simply remain dormant. But, and there's an intelligence to this, what we'll look at elsewhere. When it becomes time for a pocket of dissonance to resolve itself, what actually happens is we tend to manifest echoes of an original event that's still impacting us in the here and now quantum field, but cannot be consciously accessed via memory.
Or the responses to it that need to move, the unfinished responses to an original event. We might not be able to access them. We might not be able to access an emotional range or an emotional frequency.
We might be protecting ourselves from those emotional ranges and those emotional frequencies. We might have intelligent protective mechanisms that ensure that we don't access certain emotional ranges. Quite often, when an event from the past is trying to get itself healed, when the system is trying to return a pocket of dissonance back to resonance, it will recreate, it will manifest a recreation, an echo of an event, of an origin trauma.
This is why we repeat, we have patterns that repeat in our lives. We think, my goodness me, I thought I'd worked on this. I thought I'd healed this.
I thought I'd moved on from this. Or how is this still happening for me? Why can't I change this? Those repeating pattern events in our lives, and they could be patterns of thought and behavior and response that lead to outcomes we'd prefer not to have. They could be things that manifest and we've no idea why.
And we wish they wouldn't, but they keep happening to us. And we can become a victim to those things that just keep happening to us, that we seem to have no control over. Why do they happen? Quite often, it's the system trying to get us to finish responding to an origin event we can't access anymore.
To try and get the six-year-old part of us to finish having the responses to something it wasn't able to. Because it's in responding a lot of the time that we move forward. Now, a lot of the time our system won't be able to complete its responses to a traumatic event or something that we register as traumatic, or something we register as simply dissonant in our lives.
And that's because in order to access that emotional range or that physical range of responses, the system requires a level of safety. It needs to be safe to access that emotional range. It needs to be safe to complete the physical responses in the body that never got to happen to an original event.
It needs to be safe to have the thoughts that lead us to a new awareness about an origin event. And if it's not safe, our system is very well equipped, extremely intelligent at redirecting us away from certain emotional frequencies, or mental frequencies, or physical frequencies. We will protect ourselves from going there, if you like.
And we just won't be able to. Coming into harmonic resonance generates a level of safety. Remember we were saying that resonance, when it's sound, it carries.
It's like it carries you. It has a holding quality. And it's very much the same in our fields.
When you rest in your center, when your rhythms come into coherence, when you're generating a field of resonance around you, it carries you, it holds you, and it rests you in a field of harmony. And in that field of harmony, dissonance will dissolve. So the more deeply we hold resonance, the more we come into resonant coherence, and the more embodied that resonant coherence is, the safer our system is.
And it will begin to access, in trauma, pockets of dissonance that have been waiting for this depth of safety before they can clear from our system. So there's this interesting phenomena with coming into resonance that quite often it gifts us the opportunity to resolve events from our past, and ways of thinking, ways of perceiving, responding. Beliefs we have, expectations we have, that all arose from the impact of events in our past.
What's happened to us leads us to believe certain things about reality. Our beliefs and our expectations, they are raw reality creation tools. We manifest on the basis of what we expect, and not our conscious surface level expectations, which are, oh, this is what I expect will happen.
But the unconscious ones, the ones we might not want to acknowledge. If we were deserted by one or other of our parents at an early age, well, there's an expectation that desertion will repeat in our adult life. And we might have a conscious expectation where we override that.
So this would be an unconscious expectation, and one that might be difficult to access, but that might be creating in our reality nonetheless. And that's just an example of a pocket of dissonance that the system will be wanting to get resolved. So the intelligence in manifesting this, this repeat manifestation, it's not arbitrary.
It's because we actually have expectations that are part of our tool set for how we're creating reality. But in manifesting a repeat of an unhappy or dissonant event from our past, we give ourselves that opportunity to respond to it. Now, though we say you respond as an adult to something that happened to you as a child, which suggests that as an adult, you're more equipped to respond, but that's not always true.
I would say it's so often the depth of safety that we can access in the present moment that enables us to bring new resources to something that we've carried with us from our past. Something that, according to the system, as we say, is always happening now. So coming into a resonant coherence can really assist the release of moments where we didn't feel that level of safety holding.
And I would say love. I would say coherence, coherent resonance, is love as a vibrational patterning in our fields. One that holds us in a deeper remembering of oneness, that we are, that we are in harmony.
And what's harmony about moving parts that fit together perfectly, seamlessly? It's connectivity. Seamless, harmonious, interactive connectivity. And resonance is that in a waveform level, an energetic level, something we can generate in our field as a state, which then affects our state of being, the vibration we operate at, which will affect what we manifest.
Because it will be rewriting our beliefs, our expectations, our raw reality creation tools. So coming into resonance is double-edged because it gives us that ground state to operate from, where we're manifesting more of harmony in our reality, because the system is resting in that harmony and recognising that oneness as a more sustainable state. Something we are, we rest back into, we return to after pockets or periods of dissonance.
Something that endures beyond temporary events, which can disturb the stillness of the water. But it also creates enough safety for those pockets of dissonance that are trying to get resolved in our system, to rise up to the surface, to be seen, to be witnessed, to be re-responded to and to try and get healed. So coming into resonance demands that we face those pockets of resistance, of dissonance within us, face what there is that is ready to be healed, ready to be seen, ready to return to resonance.
So while it's a path of relaxing into a more natural state of being, one that's sits under the surface of everything we've experienced, like the current at the bottom of the ocean. If the ocean on its surface is affected by the wind and the weather, let's pretend that the ocean currents at the bottom are the very essence of the living, breathing behaviour of that ocean, when there's nothing disturbing it. I know that's not geologically true, but please, for the sake of this analogy, can we accept that idea? And it can be very much like that in us.
When we turn attention inwards, when we focus on our internal rhythms, but from a centred place, we become that thumb on the centre of the scales, we place attention in the zero point, in the fulcrum. Our rhythms find their equilibrium, their harmony, and they come into resonance. What I would suggest is there's a part of us that never left that resonance.
There's a dimension of self where the rhythms and patterns are always in harmonic resonance, where the waters are not disturbed. And that's why we meditate. No? To access that part of us that is undisturbed and undisturbable.
That doesn't mean that when we meditate, we can't be disturbed, but that when we meditate, we might access, however deeply, for however long, in whatever way, a part of us that cannot be disturbed, that is always holding that underlying harmonic rhythm. And when we rest in that state, even for a moment, the part of us that recognises this rhythm is undisturbed and undisturbable, this is a sustaining part of self, everything above it is an overlay, it's temporary, it has a timeline and a lifespan. So when we drop into that undisturbed and undisturbable part of us, it has the capacity to re-pattern us profoundly, to remind the parts of us running those temporary patterns of dissonance that, hey, this has a lifespan, it's not your highest truth, there is something deeper, truer within you.
Wherever you place your attention, that's where you sit. That's what you energise, it's what you give your energy to, but it's also what you receive energy from, information from. And so resting in that still point, in between each breath, in between each heartbeat, that's really the fulcrum in the centre of the rhythms.
It's the silence, spaciousness, the access to the beyond of the beyond, of who we are, of what everything is. And for no reason, just resting there allows parts of us to profoundly remember, to remember I am this. Thank you so much for entertaining this.
I hope you enjoy exploring whatever arises from it. It's always a joy to sit and see how the words want to come through on the vastness of this topic.
